This is a magazine. A magazine printed on paper.
A magazine made of light and projected onto a wall.
The magazine has assumed this form because we decided to do an issue on the theme of “Art and Immersion.” You might think of this room, these walls, as one of those free gifts that used to come with magazines sometimes. You know how an issue of Popular Science about the constellations used to come with a cheap plastic telescope toy or whatever? Kind of like that.
Unlike books, magazines aren’t meant to be kept around; they are created and consumed, created and consumed, just as this installation will disappear at the end of the exhibition. Just like each of our lives.
